7" Zed Touch Display Kit - Linux framebuffer use, without X11

Where would I find info on how to get this display working under Linux (xilinx-v14.6.02) with a framebuffer (no X11).

We've got our PL updated with the AXI VDMA device, and the stand-alone/baremetal Controller/Console apps work fine, but our system is Linux-based, running Qt.

Where I'm at now, the following info is in the bootup messages:

...

xilinx-vdma 43000000.axivdma: Probing xilinx axi vdma engine
xilinx-vdma 43000000.axivdma: unable to request IRQ

....

Once it boots, there's no /dev/fb0.

Trying to learn where to go from there.

Thanks

Hi kstone,

Have you taken a look at "Display Panel Ubuntu Tutorial for ZedBoard" on the Reference Designs/Tutorials page for the Zed Display Kit?

http://www.zedboard.org/design/1668/13

This tutorial covers adding support for the display to a 3.6 Linux kernel using a patch.

Regards,
