Power Over Ethernet Plus (POE+) is governed by standards defined in
IEEE 802.3at. Covers the capability to deliver data and high power to
internet appliances over CAT-5 Ethernet cables. POE+ is specified to
deliver an average of 26W at a nominal voltage of 48v downstream to the
Ethernet device (aka. PD: Powered Device). The Ethernet equipment
inserting the power onto the CAT-5 cable upstream (aka. PSE: Power
Sourcing Equipment) is also governed by the IEEE 802.3at spec.
