AES-FMC-MC1 on Zedboard

Hey all,

I recently purchased the AES-FMC-MC1 Motor Control FMC Module, which is listed as Zedboard compatible, however I have been unable to find any tutorials or instructions on how to setup the kit on the Zedboard.

When I try to run the reference design using the Xilinx ChipScope, I receive the error “Error shows in the status register, release done bit is NOT 1,” which I suspect is because the bitsteam is for the Spartan-6, not the Zedboard.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction so I can run the motor kit with my Zedboard.

Thanks in advance!

Re: AES-FMC-MC1 on Zedboard

The Hardware User Guide for the module is here -- https://www.em.avnet.com/Support%20And%20Downloads/FMC_MC1_HG_20120821.pdf

Look at sections 2.4 and 2.5.

In general the module can drive (2) 3-phase BLDC motors or (1) bi-phase stepper.

The module can deliver 3.5A to each motor, up to 24V when powered through the external power connector.  Otherwise you're limited to a total of 12V @ 1A supplied from the VITA57 FMC connector.
