Linux program to program and talk with FPGA through the USB- PSoC3 interface

Hi all,

It is possible or there is a guide available about how to talk with the PSoC3 to perform the following operations:

1 - program the FPGA via USB.

2- Use the PSoC3 as interface communication between the FPGA and PC.

I want make my own programmer in Linux, and debug aplications talking with the FPGA from Linux terminal.

Thank you very much!

Hi jcanals,

It is definitley possible to use the PSoC-3 USB interface to establish communications between the PC and the FPGA.

We provide an example of how to do this with our AvProg application which is available from the Support Files and Downloads page for this board:

http://www.em.avnet.com/en-us/design/drc/Pages/Xilinx-Spartan-6-FPGA-LX16-Evaluation-Kit.aspx

Although AvProg is only supported on Windows machines, you could theoretically setup the same type of application under Linux as well.
