CCS v4 - Error connecting to the target

When connecting to the target with CCSv4 via XDS100v2, it is possible to get the "Error connecting to the target" error.

See the attached image for a picture of the error dialog box.

Re: CCS v4 - Error connecting to the target

The first thing to try is to press the SW8 (OMAP_RST) on the hardware.  Then click Retry in the error dialog box.

If the problem persists, double-check the following:

1)     Make sure that the OMAP-L138’s boot mode is set for “EMU Debug”

2)     Make sure that there is a valid USB connection between the PC and connector J18

        - The green LED (D19) should be on

Re: CCS v4 - Error connecting to the target

Any other possible fixes for this problem?

I have re-installed the XDS100v2 drivers and still cannot connect to the target emulator.

D19 is lit and the correct S7 switches are set.  I am running CCS in a virtual machine -- any chance this is screwing up the drivers?

Re: CCS v4 - Error connecting to the target

I have personally run CCSv4 in a Windows7x64 virtual machine on a Mac running OSX 10.6.x using VMWare Fusion with no problems.

What is your configuration?  Host OS?  Virtual Machine software (VirtualBox, VMware)?

I don't suppose you have a native Windows box you could use to test the CCSv4 connection to the XDS100v2?
